LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to set up a camp for the three-match Test series against Australia which begins in December 2023, sources told Geo Super on Sunday.
The camp is likely to be held in Rawalpindi. The members of the Test squad will report on November 20 and start training on November 21.
The national selection committee will hold a meeting during next week to discuss the Test squad that would travel to Australia, sources added.
Due to the lack of time, some top officials of PCB do not want big changes to take place just before the three-match Test tour to Australia. However, they insisted on making changes in white-ball cricket.
The PCB is starting a formal process of consultation process during the next week.
It must be noted that following Pakistan's abysmal performance in the ICC World Cup 2023, the PCB on Saturday (November 11) decided to call up an important meeting next week at the PCB headquarters in Lahore.
The chairman of the PCB Management Committee, Zaka Ashraf, will meet with ex-cricketers and captains to get their input on the team's performance during the mega event.
The head of the PCB Technical Committee Misbah-ul-Haq will give his feedback and the PCB also wants to get in contact with Mohammad Hafeez, who resigned from the committee just before the World Cup squad was announced.
Umar Gul, Azhar Ali, Saeed Ajmal, Mushtaq Ahmed, Aqib Javed, Mohsin Khan and Moin Khan will give their inputs to Ashraf.
Ashraf will talk about the possible changes in the coaching staff and there will be legal consultation on their contracts as well.
The options of different captains for red-ball and white-ball format are also one of the agendas for the upcoming meeting.
